Tobacco Board a nodal agency to regulate and develop various aspects of the Indian Tobacco Industry established under the control of Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. The activities of the Board are as under : -

India is the 6th leading exporter of tobacco (all tobacco) and 4th largest exporter of FCV tobacco in the world. India exports unmanufactured tobacco as well as tobacco products like Hookah Tobacco Paste, Cigarettes, Bidis and Chewing Tobacco. Tobacco Board undertakes export promotion measures to sustain existing markets and explore new markets.

ADMINISTRATION:

The Board has its Head Office in Guntur and a sub-ordinate Administrative Office at Bangalore. The Chairman, Executive Director and Secretary are the Statutory Officers at the Bangalore outfit. There are three Regional Offices in Andhra Pradesh and one in Karnataka. Board operates between 25-30 auction platforms in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka depending on the crop size.
