CUSTOMS NOTIFICATION No.29/2000 Dated 16th March, 2000

WHEREAS the Designated authority vide notification published in Part I, Section I of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated the 3rd day of March, 2000, has initiated review in the matter of continuation of anti-dumping duty on Theophylline, and Caffeine, originating in, or exported from China PR, imposed vide notification No.14/99-Customs, dated the 5th February, 1999 and has requested for suitable extension of anti-dumping duty, pending the results of the review investigations;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), (5) and (6) of section 9A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), read with rule 23 of the Customs' Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Depatment of Revenue), No. 14/99-Customs,dated the 5t February, 1999, namely.

In the said notification, for paragraph 2, the following paragraph shall be substituted, namely:-

"2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 19th day of March, 2001, unless the notification is revoked earlier".
