Exchange is not ordinarily granted for undertaking visits abroad for private purposes such as meeting close relatives etc. except under Basic Travel Quota (Item XV of Part A of Annexure I). In cases where it is essential for persons to proceed abroad for any specific personal reason, applications may be referred to Reserve Bank giving details regarding country to be visited, reasons for the visit, period of visit, amount of exchange required and other relevant particulars supported by documentary evidence
