Remittances against claims under marine insurance policies covering imports into India may be allowed by authorised dealers on verification of the certificates regarding ownership of the goods etc. as laid down in paragraphs A.8 and A.9 of Memorandum GIM. Authorised dealers should specifically confirm on form A2 that the necessary documentary evidence has been verified and conditions laid down in paragraphs A.8 and A.9 of Memorandum GIM are fulfilled.
