Notification No. 16/99 DT. 31-3-99
G.S.R. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied it isnecessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 8/99-Central Excise, dated the 28th February, 1999, namely :-

In the said notification, in paragraph 2, -

(i) condition (I) and ILLUSTRATION I, ILLUSTRATION II and ILLUSTRATION III annexed thereto shall be omitted;

(ii) in condition (ii), for the words also has, the words has shall be substituted;

(iii) ILLUSTRATION I and ILLUSTRATION II annexed to condition (ii) shall be omitted;

(iv) In condition (iii), for the words, brackets and figures condition (i) or condition(ii), the word, brackets and figures condition(ii) shall be substituted.
