Amendments in various Notifications

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), read with sub section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act,1957 (58 of 1957) and clause 119, clause 121, clause 134 and clause 135 of the Finance Bill, 1999, which clauses have, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Finance Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 ( 16 of 1931), the force of law, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table.

3	88/88-CE, dt. 1/3/1988	In the said notification,- (i) in the third proviso, for clause (d), the following clause shall be substituted, namely;- (d) a brand name or trade name of the National Small Industries Corporation, or a State Industries Development Corporation or a State Small Industries Development Corporation. (ii) in the Table, against S. No 28, for the entry in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:- All goods consumed in the manufacture of goods specified at S. Nos 1 to 27 above- (i) whether within the factory of production of such goods; or (ii) in any other factory
4	63/95-CE, dt. 16/3/1995	In the said notification, in the provison, for the figures, letters and words 1st day of April, 1999, the figures, letters and words 1st day of April, 2000 shall be substituted.
5	8/98-CE, dt. 2/6/1998	In the said notification, - (i) after paragraph 5, the following paragraph shall be inserted , namely:- 6. This notification shall have effect upto and inclusive of the 31st day of March, 1999. (ii) in the Annexure, after item (i), the following shall be inserted, namely,- (i-a) all goods falling under heading No 09.02;
6	9/98-CE, dt. 2/6/1998	In the said notification, - (i) after paragraph 4, the following paragraph shall be inserted , namely:- 5. This notification shall have effect upto and inclusive of the 31st day of March, 1999. (ii) in the Annexure, after item (i), the following shall be inserted, namely,- (i-a) all goods falling under heading No 09.02;
