Import Licensing Notes

(1) Hazardous waste in this Chapter is permitted for import against a licence for the purpose of processing and reuse. Appendix II gives a list of the item covered under the category.

(2) In the case of import of metal scrap originating from a country affected by rebellion or war, the exporter shall furnish to the customs at the time of clearance of goods:
(i) Preshipment inspection certificate from one of the Agencies specified in Appendix 32A of the Handbook of Procedure 1997-2002 (Vol.1) to the effect that the consignment does not contain any type of arms, ammunition, mines shells, cartridage radio active contaminated or any other explosive material in any form either used or otherwise; and
(ii) A copy of the contract between the importer and exporter stipulating that the consignment does not contain any type of arms, ammunition, mines, shells, cartridage radio acitve contaminated or any other explosive material in any form either used or otherwise.
