1. Dynafax camera (Model 350) is classifiable under H. No. 90.07. (Bombay C.H.T. Public Notice No. 9 dt. 7.2.1979, based on Collectors-in-Conference Tariff Advice No. 33).

2. Glass welding filters, made from optical glass which is produced by melting glass at a temperature of approximately 1400oC and therefore, having natural fire polished surface (a) if unmounted or (b) if mounted would be classifiable under H. No. 90.01 and 90.02 respectively. (Bombay C.H.T. Public Notice No. 44 dt. 10.9.1979).

3. Low temperature, high temperature test chamber for measuring various characteristics of Electronic Components is classifiable under H. 90.25(1). (Bombay C.H.T. P.N. No. 9 dt. 7.2.1979 based on Collectors-in-Conference Tariff Advice No. 33).

5. Water detector capsules (a plastics moulded capsule in which a chemically treated filter paper disc is housed) used for the detection of undissolved undispersed water in fuel oils are classifiable under H. 90.25. (Bombay C.H.T. Public Notice No. 10 dt. 5.4.1979).

6. Votsch Bench Type temperature test cabinet designed for testing the behaviour of specimens in the research laboratory is classifiable under H. 90.25. (Bombay C.H.T. Public Notice No. 44 dt. 10.9.1979).

7. "Brinell and Vickers" Hardness Tester Machine capable of measuring hardness in both the scales viz, Brinell and Vickers is classifiable under H. 90.22. (Bombay C.H.T. Public Notice No. 46 dt. 18.9.1979—1980 Cen-Cus 11B).

8. Eyeless suture needles for sterilized surgical needle suture (catgut) fall under H. No. 90.17/18. (New Custom House Bombay, Tariff Public Notice, Collectors-in-Conference, Tariff Advice No. 40 dt. 14.11.1980).

9. Step and repeat machine operates on the principle of photographic contact and exposure which are effected by the use of high intensity light of satar cooled xenon lamps. It is designed for taking copies of the designs from photographic positive or negative to the sensitised materials like zinc, aluminium, brass, copper, steel or photographic plates or films. It is a photocopying machine which transfers the designs on the principle of contact and exposure. 10. Import of equipment by research institutions Under Notification No. 70/81 Cus. dt. 26.3.1981 registration of educational institution with the Ministry of Finance is not essential for import of scientific equipments for research. But DGTD to certify that such items are not manufactured in India and the Ministry concerned to certify that such items are essential for research and would be used for such purpose only and that the institution is not a commercial unit. (Bombay C.H. P.N. No. 58 dt. 2.5.1981).

11. Stainless Steel Wire Strip used for dental application falls under H. 90.17/18. (1985 ECR 26B).

12. Supermizer-SMX" under Schedule-I, CTA "75: On the basis of technical write-up/literature and the Explanatory Notes the apparatus in question meets the terms of H. 90.32 and Note 6(B) to Chapter 90 since it contains measuring devices, control devices and switching devices and controls the power factory of the induction motor.
