Duplicate cheque where Original is Lost

If the original cheque(s) has been lost or misplaced, a duplicate cheque(s) can be issued on an application (on letterhead) made by the exporter to the Asstt. Commissioner (Drawback). If should be sent with-

(i) non-payment certificate from the bank to which the cheque was issued,

(ii) indemnity bond for the amount covered in the claim as per prescribed form at Annexure 23.

Note: The application for duplicate cheque(s) should be sent after the validity period of the same is over.
