Subject: ICES –import- Declaration of brand, model, grade, specifications or other relevant information necessary for assessment at the time of filing Annexure 1 with CMC –reg.
Attention of all importers, exporters, CHAs and members of the Trade is invited to Public Notice No. 85/99 dated 29.7.99 issued by this Commissionerate regarding filing of Bills of Entry under EDI. The Annexure I as mentioned in para 5 of the Public Notice may be referred. With a view to minimising the number of queries at the time of assessment and to improve the quality of assessment, it has been decided to capture the following information about goods imported, in the ICES System at the time of filing of declaration vide this annexure.
1. Brand
2. Model
3. Grade
4. Specifications
5. Any other information relevant for assessment. For e.g. specific order for imported goods passes by CEGAT, past precedent regarding classification, valuation etc.
Necessary modifications in the Annexure 1 to Public Notice dated 85/99 dated
29.7.99 for declaration of these information at the time of filing document have been made and the revised format is annexed as Annexure 1 with this Public Notice. The Public Notice 85/99 dated 29.7.99 stands modified to this extent. It may be noted that wherever this information for goods imported are available, the same must be declared.
The Public Notice comes into force w.e.f. 14.1.2002
