Sub : Procedure for submission of Bonds and Bank Guarantees by Trades

Attention of the trade interests is invited to the recent Reports in the news paper regarding counterfeit stamp papers are being sold fraudulently by anti social elements.

Stamp papers are extensively being used by the trade dealing with the New customs House, Mumbai in relation to Bonds, Bank guarantees and undertaking. The is no mechanism available with Customs House to ascertain whether stamp paper submitted in the form of bank guarantee, Bond and undertaking is counterfeit or not.

Therefore, considering the seriousness of the matter and to safeguard the revenue interest the trade must use such legal instrument which are executed on the stamp papers purchased from general Stamp office, Mumbai of franking made out through General Stamp offices, Mumbai only.

This will come in to force with immediate effect.
