ICES DTRs data – observations communicated by Ministry of Commerce.


Attention of all exporters, importers, CHAs and members of the trade is invited to the formats of the declaration forms which are required to be filed by importers / exporters for filings Bills of Entry / Shipping Bills at Customs Stations where the processing of import / export documents is automated. The importers / exporters / CHAs are interalia, required to declare the RITC codes which are captured in the ICES and are sent as part of DTR to DGCIS. The above information is required by the Ministry of Commerce for analysis of various trade related data. It has been reported by the Ministry of Commerce that the RITC codes are not being indicated in a large number of cases creating difficulties in analysis required for policy formulation.

It is therefore reiterated that all importers / exporters / CHAs should ensure that the RITC codes are invariably mentioned in the declaration.
