Sub:- Implementation of the new Centralized CHA Directory-Regarding
Attention of all Custom House Agents (CHA’s), their Association and all concerned is invited to Public Notice No. 54/2005 dated 15/9/05 and Public Notice No.77/2005 dated 30.12.05 on the above subject wherein it was notified that a centralized PAN based CHA directory is being created, for which all the CHA’s were required to submit certain documents along with their PAN issued by the Income Tax Department,

2. The date for submission of PAN based application at the EDI Service Centre in NCH was extended from time to time at the request of CHA Association. However it has been observed that though majority of the CHA’s have submitted the requisite documents and have been duly registered, quite a few of the CHA’s have not done so inspite of repeated extension of the date.

3. All such CHA’s who have not yet submitted the required documents are once again reminded to do the needful latest by 23rd of June 2006 as a final chance after which no such applications will be entertained.

4. All CHA’s and their Associations may please note that with effect from 1st July 2006 (1.07.06) the current CHA Directory would be deactivated and become invalid as EDI System will not recognize their old registration numbers and it would not be possible for them to transact business without the new PAN based CHA registration.
