PUBLIC NOTICE No. 13/2006 Date : 16.03.2006

Commissionerate of Customs (Import), Mumbai will remain open for business purposes on 25th and 26th of March, 2006

1. It is bought to the notice of all members of Trade and Industry, Importers and Exporters, Custom House Agents, Shipping Agents, NVOCCs that the Commissionerate of Customs (Import), Mumbai will remain open for business purposes on 25th and 26th of March, 2006. On these two dates official business relating to import would be carried on just as on any other working day.

2. Arrangements have been made to keep the Bank of India open on 25th and 26th March 2006 during normal working hours.

3. The Bank of India will also be open on 30.03.2006 even though it is otherwise a bank holiday and the payments will be received during normal working hours.

4. On 31st March 2006 payments in the Bank of India will be accepted till 4.00 PM.

All concerned may take note of the above.

Commissioner of Customs of Customs (General) – with a request to issue suitable instructions regarding logistical arrangements viz opening up office premises, manning the gates, opening of cash section, manning of preventive formations in the docks, for purpose of grant of entry inward /loading / unloading operations / floating staff to ensure clearance of cargo on the these days, availability of electricity in Custom House and other requisite arrangements.
4. Joint Commissioner of Customs P (G) – for information and necessary action.
5. Joint Commissioner of Customs (EDI) – with direction to ensure functioning of the Service Centre, the EDI system, filing and assessment of Bill of Entry and clearance of cargo.
6. Joint Commissioner of (Docks) – to ensure examination and out of charge.
7. Joint Commissioner of Customs (Import Noting) – to ensure that work to IGM is duly attended.
8. All Joint Commissioner of Customs and Deputy /Assistant Commissioner of Customs in the Import Commissionerate.
