S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade(Development & Regulations) Act, 1992 (22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as amended, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the Export and Import Policy. 1997-2002:

2. In Chapter 16, Part III, Paragraph 16.3- Canalised items of EXIM Policy, 1997-2002 as amended, the entry at SI. No.6 shall be amended as follows: -
 

6. Onions i) National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India Ltd., (NAFED) for 10,000 MTs per month for three months (till May 1999)

ii) An Agency to be designated by the Government of Maharashtra or by Associate Shippers registered with the designated agency for 25.000 MT Per month for three months (till May 1999)

(iii) An Agency to be designated by Gujarat Government or by Associate Shippers registered with the designated agency for 15,000 MTs per month for three months (till May 1999)


3. In ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items (1997-2002. incorporating amendments made upto 31 st August 1998) at Schedule 2 Table B, the entry against ITC code No.0703 shall be amended as under:
 

0703 Onions Canalised Export through

(i) National Agricultural Co-operative marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) for 10,000 MTs per month for three months (till May 1999)

(ii) An Agency designated by the Government of Maharashtra or by Associated Shippers registered with the designated agency for 25000 MTs per month for three months (till May 1999)

(iii) An agency designated by the Government of Gujarat or Associated Shippers registered with the designated agency for 15000 MTs per month for three months (till May 1999)

subject to the following conditions.

(a) Minimum Export Price (MEP)

(b) In case of Associate Shippers the following conditions would also apply,

(i) Procurement at a 'No Objection certificate, (NOC) from the designated agency.

(ii) Payment of service charges not exceeding 3.50% of the invoiced value of the exports of onions.
