Appointment of Chief Commissioners of Customs and Central Excise- Area of jurisdiction.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 28/97-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th July, 1997, the Central Government hereby appoints the officers mentioned in column (2) of the Table below to be the Commissioner of Customs, for the areas falling within the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Central Excise, or as the case may be, the Commissioner of Customs mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table :
