Foreign Privileged Persons
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 157, read with sub-section (3)ofsection160ofthe Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Foreign Privileged Persons" (Regulation of Customs Privileges) Rules, 1957, namely:-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Foreign Privileged Persons"(Regulation of Customs Privileges) Second Amendment Rules, 1999.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.

2. In the Foreign Privileged Persons"(Regulation of Customs Privileges) Rules, 1957, -

(i) in rule 4A,in sub-rule (2), in clause (d), the words, figures and letters "where the engine capacity thereof does not exceed 1500 cc," shall be omitted,

(ii) in rule 5, in sub-rule (1A), the words, figures and letters" which has engine capacity of 1500 cc and below" shall be omitted.
