Interest accrued on duty payable on goods warehoused

Interest accrued on duty payable on goods warehoused under Chapter IX — Exempted. —
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 61 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Board of Excise and Customs, being satisfied that it is necessary so to do in the public interest, hereby exempts interest accrued on the customs duties payable on the goods warehoused under Chapter IX of the said Act and specified in the Table below at the time of clearance from the Customs Bonded Warehouses under section 68 of the Customs Act,1962, namely :-

(a) Goods imported by hundred per cent export oriented units under Notification Number 13/81-Customs, dated the 9th February, 1981;

(b) Goods imported by hundred per cent export oriented units in the Electronics Hardware Technology Parks (EHTP) under Notification Number 95/93-Customs, dated the 2nd March, 1993, Notification No. 96/93-Customs, dated the 2nd March, 1993 and Notification Number 153/93-Customs, dated the 13th August, 1993; and

(c) Goods imported by hundred per cent export oriented units in the Software Technology Parks (STP) under Notification Number 138/91-Customs, dated the 22nd October, 1991 and Notification Number 140/91-Customs, dated the 22nd October, 1991.

TABLE


1. Capital goods, components, spares of capital goods and material handling equipments, namely, fork-lifts, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, hoists and stackers.

2. Office equipments, as permissible for import by hundred per cent export oriented units under the Export Import Policy and to such extent as allowed by the Board of Approvals and Inter-Ministrial Standing Committee for hundred per cent export oriented units in the Electronics Hardware Technology Parks (EHTP) and Software Technology Parks (STP).

3. Captive Power Plants, including captive generating sets and their spares, as allowed by the Board of Approvals.

4. Tools, jigs, guages, fixtures, moulds, dies, instruments and accessories.
