PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 76/2008, DT. 02/09/2008

Period for filing application for revalidation of DFIAs - extended upto 30/09/2008

In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the Handbook of Procedures, vol. 1, 2004-09.

1. Public Notice No. 44(RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 4.7.08 stands amended as follows:

(i) The time period for filing application for revalidation of DFIAs mentioned in PN No. 44 dated 4.7.08 stands extended upto 30th September, ’08.

(ii) No application fee shall be required for such revalidation.

(iii) Application for revalidation can be made in the request letter itself along with the original DFIA and amendment sheets, if any.

2. Sl. No. 1(v) of Public Notice No. 79 dated 2.1.2006 as amended vide PN 2 dated 11.4.08 stands amended as follows:

“A copy of the MODVAT / CENVAT non-availment Certificate duly counter-signed by Central Excise Authority or a certificate from the Central Excise authorities that imported inputs have been used for the production of dutiable goods in his factory or in the factory of his supporting manufacturer or ARE 1 or similar document(s) duly authenticated by the Central Excise Authority and evidencing non availment of MODVAT/CENVAT credit facility. However, such certificate would not be required in case of export of non-dutiable products.”

This issues in public interest.
