Sugar Export to EEC/USA

Sub:- Placement of quantity of 29,400 MTs of Sugar/ raw Sugar from the Freesale Quota of 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 Season for export of Preferential Quotas to EEC and USA

Attention is invited to the entry at SI. No.25 of Schedule 2 Appendix I of the book titled ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items 1997-2002”.

2. It has been decided to allocate a quantity of 29,400MTs (Twenty-nine thousand four hundred MTs ) of Free Sale Sugar/raw sugar out of 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons production for export to EEC and USA as preferential quotas and place the same at the disposal of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) for the purpose of issuing Registration-cum-Allocation Certificates (RCACs) to M/S Indian Sugar and General Industry Export Import Corporation Ltd., N. Delhi as per details given below:

(i) 8,200.0 MTs of Raw Sugar for export to USA against 1999-2000 Tariff Rate Quota.

(ii) 11,000.0 MTs of Raw Sugar for export of preferential raw sugar quota (2000-2001) to EEC.

(ill) 10,200.0 MTs of White Sugar for export as preferential White Sugar Quota to EEC.

3. The Indian Sugar and General Industry Export Import Corporation Ltd. (ISGIEIC) shall be sole agency authorized to export sugar/raw sugar to EEC and USA against the preferential Ceiling as indicated above. The export of above quantity of sugar/raw sugar to EEC and USA under the preferential arrangements as indicated above shall also be subject to prescribed pre-shipment certificate by Export Inspection Council.
