Procedure for filing Supplementary DEPBs as per DGFT Public Notices 62 and 63

 

1. Attention of the trade is invited to the DGFT Public Notice No.62 dated 17/2/2003 wherein Schedule of DEPB rates have been published. Attention of the trade is also invited to DGFT Public Notice No.63 dated 17/2/2003 wherein detailed guidelines have been issued explaining as how to make supplementary DEPB applications for claiming the benefits as per the new rates. The following guidelines are issued for the benefit of the applicants who would be applying to this office for supplementary DEPB. These guidelines are in addition the guidelines issued by DGFT vide Public Notice No.63 for facilitating smooth processing of applications.

Applicants are required to submit their application in respect of relevant Advance licensing/FAS counters from 10.30 a.m. 12.30 p.m.

The applicants are required to file the application in manual mode as per the guidelines and in the prescribed application format as contained in Annexure to Public Notice No.63 dated 17/2/2003.

2. It is quite possible that in earlier DEPBs issued by this office, there may be mistakes in the shipping bill numbers, port of registration, fob value etc. and subsequently same might have been corrected manually without updating the same in the computers. Exporters can check the details of DEPBs issued to them, in this office's web site at http://www.dgftmumbai.nic.in . They can get details such as file numbers, DEPB Number and date, Port of Registration, Shipping Bill numbers etc. and are requested to cross verify these details with the actual details as per their documents. If there is any mismatch found in this information, exporters are advised to furnish the correct position file wise in the covering letter of their application, so that this office will take corrective action and issue supplementary DEPBs with correct details. Your cooperation is solicited in this regard to ensure issue of error-free supplimentary DEPBs.

3. Supplementary DEPB would be issued within 7 days from the date of submission of application.
