Duty Drawback - Statement of Pending Claims -Periodicity Changed


Subject: Monthly statement showing the receipts, disposal and pendency of drawbackclaims.

Sir,

In the above-mentioned monthly statement, the field formations have been furnishing the break-up of the pendency of duty drawback claims namely 1 to 3 months, over 3 months and over one year.

2. Section 75-A of the Customs Act and Rule 13 of the Customs and Central Excise Duties Drawback Rules 1995 have been amended to reduce the period beyond which interest is to be paid to the exporters from 3 months to 2 months. In the light of the above amendment, it has been decided that the aforementioned monthly statement may be amended to provide break-up of the pending drawback cases for the following periods :-

(1) Below one month.
(2) One to two months.
(3) Over two months; and
(4) Over one year.
